Very rare soviet russian ussr ww2 badge to participant of nothern convoys 1941-45 and ussr arctic convoy medal for 40th anniversary of victory in the great patriotic war with award certificate. Medal made of glided brass. Leningrad mint mark ldm on the ring! Cmoe with original award certificate, issued on 1985 to war' veteran. Badeg made of neusilber.

Excellent condition of all items. History badge was given to british, u. S, canadian and russian veterans of ww2, who participated in russian arctic convoys. Extremely rare item! Very low mintage!

Mdeal was established 12 april 1985. Awarded to all servicemen and employed civilians of the soviet armed forces who actively participated in the great patriotic war of 1941-1945, to partisans and members of clandestine underground organizations who operated within occupied territories of the ussr, and to those previously awarded with medals for victory over germany or victory over japan. Three variations exist.

For military service, with the legedn to the participant of war on the reverse. For distinguished labor, with the legend to the participant of the labor front on the reverse.

For special military delegations arriving in moscow to take part in 40th anniversary celebrations, only the legend xxx years of victory in the great patriotic war 1941-1945 appears on the reverse. Besides soviet veterans the medal wiht the legend to the participant of war on the reverse was also given to british and us veterans (who participated in russian convoys in sea operations bringing war supplies to the soviet union by way of the barents sea, the persian gulf, the black sea or the sea of okhotsk between 22 june 1941 and 9 may 1945 and also includes those u.
